1.14. Does the 2021 Ford Edge support key all-loss with T-Ninja 1000?

Hello! We are glad to assist you. The 2021 Ford Edge does not currently support key all-loss, but you can try. If the vehicle's anti-theft type has not been updated and is the same as the 2020 model, it is supported.

Additionally, please note that for the 2020 Ford all-loss, you need to first disable the vehicle's anti-theft mode. During the function execution, a window will pop up (each time it is different), and you need to find a third-party to calculate the password (4S shop). We currently cannot calculate the password. During the password calculation process, you cannot exit or click OK to proceed to the next step. Only after obtaining the password can you proceed with the key all-loss function.

2. Download and Upgrade

2.1. The main page of the device prompts for activation after turning it on. How to activate it?

Top Key

1. Function Usage

1.1. How to Connect and Use Top Key

Connecting VCI to the Application

After logging into the TOP KEY application, the system will prompt you to bind the device. You can choose to skip this operation or directly bind the VCI. If you choose to skip, you can later connect the VCI by clicking on VCI Management on the homepage. If you choose to bind directly, please first insert the VCI into the vehicle's OBDII interface, and then follow these steps:

a) Click on Add VCI.

b) Click on Connect after the VCI is detected.

c) Confirm the serial number and click on Bind Now.

d) Binding successful. You can proceed to pair the key or return to the homepage to pair the key later. When ready to pair the key, click on Add Key on the homepage.

1.2. What Functions Does the Top Key App Support for OBDⅡ/EOBD?

This function supports complete OBDⅡ functionalities, including: reading fault codes, clearing fault codes, I/M readiness status, data stream, freeze frame, oxygen sensor test, on-board monitoring test, fuel evaporation system test, and vehicle information.

1.3. Does TOPKEY and the Key Come with a Battery?

The TOPKEY connector itself does not come with a battery, but the key comes with a button battery.

1.4. How Can I Get the Key Cut?

Locksmiths, hardware stores, large retail stores, and even some supermarkets can cut keys. However, you need to have at least one original key for key cutting.

We recommend that after the new key is cut, you try to open the mechanical lock on the vehicle door to ensure the key is cut correctly.

1.5. Why Do Some Systems Have Both Key Matching and Remote Matching? What's the Difference?

Keys are typically used to start the car engine. The remote function generally refers to the ability to lock and unlock the car doors without using the key to open the mechanical lock.

The key contains an electronic anti-theft chip, which must be programmed to be used. Some car models automatically complete remote matching after key matching, while others like Toyota and FCA require separate key and remote matching.

1.6. Can the Lost Key Still Be Used After Matching a New Key?

This depends on the car model and brand. For example, in Ford models, if a new key is matched, the lost key will become invalid. If you later find the lost key, you can match it again, so both the original and the found key can continue to be used.

1.7. If the Original Key Can Start the Engine but the Remote Is Broken, Will the New Remote from TOP KEY Work Properly After Matching?

Yes. After matching the new key, both the key and remote functions will work normally. If you have matched the key but the remote function still does not work, please call our technical support hotline.

1.8. After Purchasing a TOP KEY Product Corresponding to My Car Model, Can Someone Steal My Car?

No, it is impossible. The original car key is needed to open the car door and match a new key. Even if someone forcibly enters your vehicle, they cannot add a new key without the original key.

1.9. My Vehicle Brand, Model, and Year Are Compatible, but the Only Key I Have Left Is an Aftermarket Key, and I Can't See the FCC ID. Can I Still Purchase This Tool?

It is not recommended. TOP KEY may not match at all, or it may only start the car engine without activating the remote function.

1.10. If My Vehicle Has Been Matched with New Keys Multiple Times, Can It Be Matched with New Keys Again?

TOP KEY can read the number of keys already matched with the vehicle and will display the maximum number of keys that can be matched.

1.11. Is There a Limit to How Many Keys I Can Add to My Vehicle?

Yes. Each manufacturer has a limit on the number of keys that can be added. Many manufacturers limit it to 8 keys.

1.12. Will the Old Key Become Invalid After TOP KEY Matches a New Key?

Different cars have different definitions of whether the lost key will become invalid after matching a new key. First, TOPKEY does not provide a single key deletion function (due to high risk). Secondly, for example, in Ford, after matching a new key, the lost key will become invalid. If it is later found, you can match the lost key and all the keys you have again, so the original key and the found key can continue to be used.

1.13. Can a Stranger Who Bought a TOPKEY Corresponding to My Car Match My Car?

Dear customer, we are glad to serve you! In principle, it is possible, but in reality, it is very difficult to achieve. First, the stranger does not have the original car key and cannot open the car door to enter the car to perform new key matching. Even if they forcibly enter the car, because our product only provides key addition matching, it is impossible to add a key without an original key that can start the car. Of course, if the other party is a premeditated professional locksmith, it can be achieved. We hope our answer is helpful to you. If you have any questions, please feel free to communicate with us. We will wholeheartedly serve you. Thank you for your trust and support in TOPDON.

1.14. The FCC ID of the Original Car Key and the New TOPKEY Key Are the Same, the Key Chip Is Matched, but the Remote Cannot Be Matched. What's the Reason?

Dear customer, we are glad to serve you! First, the key frequency provided by our TOPKEY is fixed and is the standard frequency for the corresponding car models in the US region. However, it cannot be ruled out that some cars are imported to the US from other countries or the version of the vehicle is special and the manufacturer has other settings, or the customer's vehicle itself does not come with a remote (or it is added later), so there is a small probability of non-standard frequency, and the remote cannot be matched successfully if the frequency is different. We hope our answer can resolve your doubts. If you have any questions, please feel free to communicate with us. We will wholeheartedly serve you. Thank you for your trust and support in TOPDON.
