Q1. Which scanner supports HD vehicles?

- Phoenix  Xlink/Smart/Max/Remote support HD vehicles' diagnostics with an additional subscription fee.

Q3. Do Topdon scanners have IP restriction?

- Dear user, our device doesn't have IP retriction.

Q5. What is the usb c port on Phoenix Plus VCI used to?

- Dear user, the USB C interface is used to connect VCI and devices for wired transmission (mainly used for wired transmission when connecting to the t-ninja box), but in fact all functions of Phoenix plus can be operated using Bluetooth

Q6. Will I still be able to use the device after the software expires?

- Dear user, after the vehicle software expires:
1. You'll retain access only to the vehicle software versions available before the expiration date, while the system and APK versions will continue to update as usual.
2. Certain online functions requiring connection to the server will be restricted. For example, Chrysler vehicles from 2018 onwards basic diagnostic functions such as Trouble Code retrieval, Live Data access, Module Information retrieval, Active Tests, and special functions and online coding.

Q7. Do Topdon devices provide maintenance data like ALLDATA?

- Dear user, currently, we only provide quick access to Auto data/Alldata etc, you will be able to find the access in Library menu

Q8. Do you have a device that supports mileage correction?

- Sorry, we don't have a device that supports this function.

Q9. What is the difference between Enhanced scan and Basic scan in Mercedes software?

- The Enhanced scan includes all special functions, and the scanning speed will be slower; the Basic scan only has code reading and clearing, several common maintenance functions, and programming functions, and the scanning speed will be faster.

Q10. How to select the right programming file on the programming file list?

- Generally speaking, the files obtained from the server are suitable for this car model. The default is to select from top to bottom. If the vehicle can work normally after programming, then the programming can be ended. If there are still problems with the vehicle, you can select the following files to continue programming.

Q11. There are multiple programming files with *, which one to choose?

- Dear user, please select all files marked with *. If there are no files marked with *, select them in order from top to bottom.

Q12. Why doesn't the device read any fault codes when fault lights are on the dashboard?

- It is recommended to upload the diagnostic log and provide the picture of the fault light on the instrument panel for the engineer to analyze (special situation: the ABS light is on but the fault code cannot be read, the possible reason is poor grounding caused by a virtual connection of the ground wire. There is no fault in the actual system, and the ground needs to be checked line)

Q13. Do Phoenix Smart/Max support ethernet cable connection to do ECU programming?

- Yes, you will need to purchase a type c to network port adapter cable.

Q14. Why does the device show English even though it's set to non-English?

- Dear user, the device is pre-installed English version software, if you switched the language on the device, please enter Update menu to download related vehicle software.

Q15. Why does the sanner prompt "VCI already been registered" when activating?

- Dear user, this message ususally indicates that there are aleardy an account bound to this device, please email support@topdon.com to send the device SN and proof of purchase, they will assist promptly.

Q16. Why does the scanner prompts "unsupported" when doing Special functions?

- There are possible 2 reasons:
1. If the function is listed as supported on our website coverage list, please upload diagnostic log and contact support@topdon.com to ask for help.
2. The vehicle itself doesn't support this function."

Q17. I don't see my device information under My Devices on the Topdon official website.

- Dear user, the My device function on our website is still under development, and the relevant device serial numbers may not be uploaded, thus you cannot see it. 

Q18. How do I log in if I don't remember the password?

- Dear user, there is "retrive password/forgot password" menu on login interface, you can reset the password by yourself. If you are having trouble using this function, please contact support@topdon.com.

Q19. Does my scanner support using an SD card to expand its memory?

- Sorry, this is not supported.

Q20. How to edit the business information?

- Please follow this path: Userinfo > Business information

Q21. Does the scanner support Ford/GM ecu online programming?

- Dear user, we don't support Ford and GM online programming, support Ford offline programming.

Q22. How to perform a factory reset?

- Please follow this path: Userinfo > Settings > Restore factory settings

Q23. How to change the login email address?

- Dear user, the login email address is bound to the device, please contact support@topdon.com of you want to change the email bounded.

Q24. Can the keyboard range be reduced?

- Yes, please clcik '...' on the keyboard, select Floating, then you can move it on the screen.

Q25. What is the difference between online coding and offline coding?

- The offline coding is common in VAG models. You need to obtain the coding value first (You can read the coding from the original ecu module, or read the coding of the same configuration vehicle, etc.), and then write it manually. 
The online coding is to directly connect to the Internet to obtain the code from the server and then write it. There is no need to obtain the code yourself and write manually.

Q26. How to renew the software after 2 years?

- Dear user, you are advised to contact the device seller or email sales@topdon.com to purchase a renewal card.

Q27. Does the scanner support to unlock the SGW of Nissan?

- There are currently 2 ways:
1. you can use the 16+32 adapter cable;
2. Turn the ignition switch off and then on again. Step on the accelerator twice within 10 seconds and then execute the corresponding function.

Q28. Does the scanner support diagnosing VAG models with SFD?

- Currently, our device doesn't support directly unlocking SFD, you will need to query the SFD token from the car manufacturer and enter that token into the software to unlock the secure gateway. Engineers are negotiating with Volkswagen manufacturers to obtain authorization, but progress is slow and may take a long time.

Q29: What is the difference among High-speed scan, Smart scan, System scan, and Choose to scan?

High-speed scan: normally the device supports scanning one system at a time. The high-speed scanning feature allows simultaneous scanning of up to 8 CAN-BUS protocol systems, significantly increasing scanning speed and enhancing user experience.
 Smart Scan: this feature will scan all systems and read the DTCs in each system.
 System Scan: this feature doesn't read DTCs, it will scan and show you what systems are equipped on the car.
 Choose to Scan: you can select one or multiple systems you want to start scanning.

- Rlink Lite is a VCI box designed as an alternative to various OEM diagnostic devices, it's compatible with various OE software to perform OE-level diagnostics across various vehicle models. It supports diverse protocols like DoIP, CAN, CAN FD, J1850, J2534, and K line. While Phoenix Smart MDCI Pro is j2534 compatible, the OE software it can support is less than Rlink Lite. But it can act as an independent diagnostic scanner to perform diagnosis.
