No. The infrared detector primarily detects long-wave infrared in the 8 to 14-micron range and is only used to measure surface temperatures.
1.8. What tripod can be used to support TS004?
Our standard interface is 1/4 inch in size.
1.9. How to connect TS004 to the app
How to connect TS004 to the app:
- Open the app's homepage and click on "Connect Device"
- Select the corresponding device on the page
- Choose wireless connection and select TS004
- Click to connect once the device is found
2. Download and Upgrade
2.1. Which mobile software does TS004 need to download?
Wirelessly connect your phone through the Toplnfrared app for worry-free real-time monitoring. Seamlessly capture images and record videos with audio, ensuring you never miss a moment, no matter where your adventures take you, even offline.
3. Troubleshooting
3.1. When using TS004, there is a crescent-shaped shadow in the lower right corner of the device in any mode
This is due to slight temperature unevenness in the lens cover, which does not affect imaging; you can also go to the settings again to perform an image correction.
TS005
1. Function Usage
1.1. Does it support OTA updates?
Yes, it supports OTA updates (USB updates).
1.2. Can the TS005 be used with a tripod?
Yes, the TS005 supports tripod connection.
1.3. What should be noted when selecting a target with the TS005?
- Optimal ranging results can be achieved when the target surface reflectivity is around 70% (the reflectivity of white plaster walls or white paper is close to 70%);
- Avoid selecting mirror-like targets to prevent the ranging signal from being completely reflected in other directions;
- Do not choose transparent/hollow/too small/low reflectivity targets to avoid insufficient reflection of the ranging signal, which may result in inability to calculate data;
- Try to measure directly facing the target to avoid the ranging signal hitting the target at an angle;
- Try to avoid measuring in environments with direct strong light or surrounded by highly reflective objects (such as glass curtain walls) to reduce the possibility of signal interference and obtain accurate measurement results.
1.4. Explanation of Hot Spot Tracking Function
Hot Spot Tracking: When hot spot tracking is turned on, a box will appear to track the target with the highest temperature in the field of view; when hot tracking is turned off, the box disappears.
1.5. Explanation of Pseudo Color Palette
When you use the TS005 to detect objects outdoors, you can choose the appropriate pseudo color palette according to the actual situation. There are five palettes to choose from: White Hot, Black Hot, Red Hot, Iron Hot, and Rainbow. You can switch between them by pressing the mode button.
1.6. How to Use the Pseudo Color Palette
- Iron Hot: High-temperature objects appear bright red or orange. This palette is usually suitable for applications where high-temperature identification is crucial, such as firefighting and surveillance.
- White Hot: High-temperature objects appear white. This palette is suitable for daytime use.
- Black Hot: High-temperature objects appear black. This palette is suitable for nighttime use.
- Red Hot: The hottest 10% of objects in the image appear red, while the rest are gray.
- Rainbow: The Rainbow palette covers the entire color spectrum, with low-temperature areas mainly displayed in blue and green, and high-temperature areas mainly displayed in yellow, orange, and red. It can display subtle temperature changes and is suitable for checking complex details in thermal imaging, such as building inspections and equipment fault diagnosis.
1.7. How to Set Brightness
The TS005 allows users to customize screen brightness according to personal preference or ambient lighting conditions.
To adjust the screen brightness, select Brightness in the menu list, press the mode button briefly to enter the submenu, and choose the desired level from three options: High/Medium/Low.
1.8. Can the TS005 detect underwater objects through glass or walls?
No, the infrared detector mainly detects the long-wave infrared region of 7.5 to 14μm and can only be used to measure surface temperature.
1.9. Can a phone connect to the TS005/Is there a phone that can connect to the TS005?
The TS005 does not support connection with phones.
1.10. Is the camera's focus fixed or adjustable?
Its focus is 35mm. You can rotate the lens to focus on close or distant targets.
1.11. How long can I record video with the TS005?
You can record video continuously until the TS005's battery is depleted. During use, the TS005 automatically saves the video every 20 minutes.
1.12. How to View Captured Thermal Images on a PC?
Connect the TS005 to a Windows PC using the provided USB-A to USB-C cable, and then you can view the thermal images on the TS005.
1.13. How to Choose the Best Ranging Target?
- For optimal results, choose a target with a surface reflectivity of around 70% (such as white plaster walls or paper).
- Avoid mirror-like surfaces to prevent the measurement signal from being completely reflected.
- Do not choose transparent, hollow, very small, or low reflectivity targets, as they may not reflect enough signal for accurate readings.
- Measure directly at the target to avoid angles that may distort the signal.
1.14. Are there blind spots when using this product?
Yes, the product has a blind spot of about 10 meters, meaning it does not support distance reading for targets within this range.
1.15. How to Reduce Measurement Errors and Interference?
To reduce errors and interference and achieve accurate
